What sets Filmmakers Ink apart from other Film programs, is the depth of knowledge and achievement in our staff, who’ve produced award-winning independent films, like Beautiful Kid featuring the late Pulitzer Prize-Winning author, Frank McCourt, which Variety called, a film with "astonishing integrity." The staff includes Patrick McCullough, Writer, Director and Producer, winner of several awards and nominations, a finalist in the Sundance Film Festival Screenwriting Program, and is currently under contract adapting a book about a con man during the Second World War, into a screenplay. Sabrina Durling-Jones (Lead Instructor) is a photographer and filmmaker. She is a graduate of the University of New Orleans Film program and began her Masters Degree studies in Cinematography at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney, Australia. She is currently editing her documentary, that was filmed in Venezuela. PROGRAMS:
INTENSIVE 1 FILMMAKING / ACTING
This Full Day One Week Filmmakers Ink program is for those that have a passion for film, and would like to learn how to consistently make good movies. Professional filmmakers will give you the opportunity to experience moviemaking process from script writing through pre-production and filming. Everyone will develop scripts, learn some Acting techniques, use professional filmmaking equipment, and work in each of the main crew positions, including Director, 1st AD (Assistant Director), DP (Director of Photography), Gaffer (lighting) and Sound, while making movies together.

Special FX Filmmaking Learn filmmaking through Filmmakers Ink “hands-on” instruction. In this Full Day One Week program, you will collaborate to develop an idea for a film, then, write, produce, shoot, direct and edit a 5-10 minute movie together with an experienced filmmaker, using in-camera and computer Special FX. You will screen your movie for family and friends at your Premiere on the final day. Students are encouraged to bring their own video camera (only if they already own one), recording media (tape or drive), and tripod for practice instruction. "Cody loved every minute of this camp!! Filmmakers Ink offers a University film program experience in a camp setting. The Filmmakers Ink Summer Film Camp gives its young filmmakers the opportunity to explore the filmmaking creative process, including script writing, pre-production, acting and producing films, and provides them with the skill and confidence to be an influential member of the growing community of young filmmakers in New York City. Under the leadership of award-winning filmmaker, Patrick McCullough, Filmmakers Ink has set itself apart from other film camps with their attention to storytelling through digital media.
An award-winning filmmaker, one of Patrick McCullough’s projects was producing and acting in the independent film, Beautiful Kid, with Frank McCourt, the Pulitzer Prize-Winning author of Angela's Ashes. Variety cited Beautiful Kid for its, "Astonishing integrity." The film won the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor awards at the Method Fest in Burbank, California, and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, Best Ensemble Cast, and both, The Maverick Award for Best Low Budget Film, and Best Feature. Patrick began his filmmaking career producing and directing several educational films including the Cine Golden Eagle Award-Winning, Sara's Diary. His screenplay, Broham was a finalist in the Sundance Film Festival Screenwriting Program. He has served as a Blue Ribbon Panel Judge for the Daytime Emmy Awards (Judging Writing and Directing in Children’s Movies) and on the nominating committee for the SAG Awards (Outstanding TV Series). He produced two Documentary films funded by the Department of Justice, and just directed a feature film at the end of 2011, Slider, written by one of his first Filmmakers Ink students, Brett Marshall, who is now graduating from Emerson College in Boston.
