filmmaking instruction in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Two
Week Intensive Summer Filmmaking Camp
Our young
filmmakers will work with an award-winning screenwriter, learning to
develop characters, dialogue and plot to tell stories with words and
images that have personal meaning. The culminating
experience will be collaboration in the planning and execution of Directing
several films. Filmmakers Ink offers a University quality course in
a summer camp setting. Students will be grouped by Age and Experience.

Two Week
Acting for Film Camp
During the first
week, our young actors will sharpen their listening skills and then
work improvisationally, learning to concentrate, trust and collaborate.
They will act in the films being produced by the Intensive Filmmaking
Program. Our actors will learn to live truthfully within their scenes,
gaining plenty of on-camera experience. Filmmakers Ink offers
a University quality course in a summer camp setting. Students will
be grouped by Age and Experience.

One
Week Screenwriting Program

Two week Special Effects Filmmaking Summer Camp for 8-10 yr olds
Our youngest
filmmakers will develop a story and learn to use Special Effects to
film it. They will also learn camera basics and teamwork. These young
filmmakers will write, shoot, edit and screen their movie for family
and friends at their Premiere on the final day. Students are encouraged
to bring their own camera and tripod if they own one, but it is not
required.

Under
the leadership of award-winning filmmaker, Patrick McCullough, Filmmakers
Ink has set itself apart from other summer filmmaking camps
through their depth of knowledge and achievement. Writer, Director,
Actor and Producer, winner of several awards, a finalist
in the Sundance Film Festival Screenwriting Program,
and currently producing a feature film in New York City, one of Patrick
McCullough’s recent projects was producing and acting in the independent
film, Beautiful Kid, with Frank McCourt, the
Pulitzer Prize-Winning author of Angela's Ashes.
Variety cited the film for its, "Astonishing
integrity." The film won the Best Actor and Best Supporting
Actor awards at the Method Fest in Burbank, California, and was nominated
for several other awards, including Best Film and the Maverick Award
for Best Low Budget Film. Other working filmmakers will be on hand for
instruction, including Joe Hertz, Animation instructor at the Greater
Hartford Academy of the Arts in Connecticut. Filmmakers Ink provides
intensive creative instruction in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We will
be building confidence in our students by teaching teamwork with daily
success. Giving each a strong foundation in collaboration, imagination,
creativity and storytelling. Whether writing, directing or acting in
the role you were born to play, you will never forget this experience.

NOTE:
The following information has been supplied by the Watertown Parks and
Recreation Department:
WALK-IN REGISTRATION BEGINS SATURDAY, MAY 17, 2008 from 9:00
AM – 12:00 PM & TUESDAY, MAY 20, 2008 from 5:30 PM –
7:00 PM at the Watertown Recreation Department, Depot Square Mall Lobby.
These registrations are considered one registration, and are based on
a lottery, not on a first come, first served basis. After that we will
be accepting registrations until 4:00 pm the Thursday before the program
begins only if program is not filled to capacity before that time.

NON-RESIDENTS
Will be allowed to mail-in or drop off registrations at once, however,
the registrations will not be processed MONDAY, MAY 26, 2008. Please
note there is an additional $5.00 charge for all non-resident registrations
PHONE REGISTRATIONS Phone registrations will be accepted with Credit
Card purchase.
ONLINE REGISTRATINS We do not accept online registrations but you can
print out a registration to mail to us. Log onto the Town’s website
at www.watertownct.org. Click on Parks & Recreation Department/Recreation
Activities/Recreation Sign-Up Form.
REGISTRATION EXCEPTIONS Children must be the proper age before the program
begins. We try our best to try and accommodate everyone. Programs are
designed according to an age level that will best benefit the student
and to have an appropriate instructor/student ratio.
REGISTRANTS ARE NOTIFIED when a course is cancelled. If a desired class
is full you will be put on a waiting list. Additional classes may be
opened if facility and instructor are available. The Recreation Department
reserves the right to set a minimum and maximum for each program and
to cancel any program due to low enrollment.
REGISTER EARLY Nothing kills a recreation program faster than residents
who wait until last minute to register. There is a point when a program
must be cancelled or modified if there is insufficient registration.
All programs require a high level of coordination often including facility
scheduling, staffing, volunteer recruitment and purchasing of supplies.
PLEASE REGISTER EARLY!
PAYMENT POLICY Payment is due with registration for all programs with
proof of age. We will accept cash, credit card (Master Card, Visa, &
debit cards), money order or check made out to Watertown Recreation.
No pre/post dated checks. A $15.00 fee will be charged for any returned
checks. Instructors will not accept registration at the class site.
Fees must be paid at the office prior to participation otherwise specified.
CONFIDENTIAL
FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS are available to qualified applicants (for Watertown
residents only). Please contact the Recreation Department at (860) 945-5246
for more information.
