The Filmmakers Ink programs offer courses that train young filmmakers at three different levels and are designed to grow with their expanding knowledge of filmmaking.  Guided by our staff of film professionals, our young filmmakers learn by doing as they develop the key creative and technical skills required for exceptional filmmaking.

Intensive 1 Filmmaking / Acting

For those ready to make consistently good movies.  Professional filmmakers will help each young filmmaker/actor experience the moviemaking process from script writing through pre-production and filming.  You will work together developing a script, using professional filmmaking equipment, learning performance techniques for the Actor and Director, and work in each of the main crew positions, including Director, 1st AD (Assistant Director), DP (Director of Photography), Gaffer (lighting) and Sound, while making movies together.

Monday - Friday     August 8 - August 12   

Ages: 11-15   12:30pm – 4:00pm 

NOTE: Students are grouped by Age and Experience.

Location: Newtown Middle School

Cost: $280   Tuition includes materials/equipment.  NOTE: Non-residents will be required to pay an additional $10.00 per program.

Special FX Filmmaking for 8-10 yr olds 

You will develop a movie idea and learn to use Special FX to film it.  You’ll learn how to make people walk through walls, appear and disappear and several other in-camera effects as well as computer Visual FX.  At the same time you will also learn camera basics and teamwork.  You will write, shoot, edit and screen a rough cut of your movie for family and friends at your Premiere on the final day of film camp.  Students are encouraged to bring their own video camera, digital media (tape or card), and tripod only if they already own them.
